Charlie Sheen ’s wife, Brooke Mueller, has checked into a rehab facility for substance abuse. Since last Tuesday, Mueller, 32, has been at The Canyon rehab center in Malibu, TMZ reports. Brooke’s rehab stint follows a series of bizarre events between her and Charlie, including their domestic violence dispute on Christmas Day. Last month, Mueller was hospitalized for a severe infection stemming from wisdom tooth surgery , which eventually led to pneumonia. She checked into a “wellness program” in North Carolina to rest, although many speculated she was actually in rehab for addiction. Before entering The Canyon facility, a source told People , “Brooke is going to go into rehab as soon as possible. It is the best thing for her to do. She really liked the programs in North Carolina and would like to go back there at some point.”
